UC San Diego and The Scripps Research Institute adopt a modified ethics training requirement to recognize the need to match levels of training requirements to the nature of the research being conducted. |

Adoption of a Common Ethics Training Requirement
Burnham Institute for Biomedical Research and Salk Institute for Biological Studies confirm adoption of the requirement for ethics training. This decision confirmed that all four institutions accepted a common approach to requirements for ethics training. |

UC Irvine joins the SDREC
UC Irvine (UCI) has made a 3-year commitment to membership in the SDREC for the primary purpose of building institutional capacity in research ethics. The services to be covered under this agreement include: (1) access to existing research ethics courses and programs supported by the SDREC; (2) an assessment of needs, opportunities, and resources at UCI for research ethics; and (3) support for development of new research ethics activities at UCI. |
